Some airframes, especially those designed and built outside of the United States or based on foreign designs are not suitable for use in precision spot landing tasks common in American Thermal Duration competition. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PILOT TO DETERMINE IF HIS/HER PLANE IS SUITABLE FOR THE TASKS TO BE FLOWN. If you are unsure, contact the manufacturer and determine if your plane is suitable for use with landing skids and skegs and American style precision landing tasks. Arresting landing skids and skegs have become commonly accepted in open class thermal duration competition in the United States however like the equipment in any competitive sport they must be used properly to avoid a mishap. This is the notice that has been on the skid / skeg instruction sheets, order form and sales invoice from the beginning.
