Pre-shape the skid to match the contour of the the fuselage. Placing the skid
briefly in boiling water will cause it to become piable and will retain its new
shape after it cools.
Draw a center line down the center fuselage and attach skid starting at the
nose using #4 sheet metal screws (best for most applications), wood screws or
#6-32 machine screws and blind nuts. Pilot holes are provided between the teeth
for addtional screws on the Sharkstooth Skid. The type of fastener used depends
on the type of fuselage. 1/8" pop rivets with a 1/8" washer inside can be used
but are difficult to remove.
Most addhesive will not stick to polyethylene and should only be used in
addition to screws. Glues like "Shoe Goo" or
"PFM" work best on polyethylene.
