The "Tape On" Skeg was designed for open class competitive TD sailplanes including F3J and F3B ships used in open class competition. The "Tape On" Skeg can be quickly and easily attached at the flying field with tape. For those still using brittle carbon fiber or fiberglass skegs, carry a spare "Tape On" in your flight box in case you break one off. Use the "Tape On Skeg" with the " SD6, SD-5 Landing Skids" or the "Hooktooth" for predictable slide attenuation.

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS:
TAPE ON: Locate in the desired location and wrap the front wings with suitable tape. Colored vinyl electrical tape is frequently used or filament tape. Repeat for rear wings. Check the tape frequently for wear and replace if necessary.

GLUE ON: Prepare the surface of the skeg by using a razor knife to make many shallow cuts until no shiny areas can be seen. Using the knife, scrape the surface (like scaling a fish) until the surface becomes fuzzy like velvet. Prepare the surface of the fuselage to maximize adhesion. It may be helpful to mask the area then draw the outline of the skeg and cut out the shape. Masking will aid in the removal any excess glue that may ooze out. Apply "PFM", "Shoe Goo" or similar pliable vinyl glue to the skeg and secure with tape or nylon tyraps pulling the skeg down tight against the fuselage until the glue has cured. Caution: Use of glue results in a permanent installation that is difficult to remove.
